It’s been a cold week across the valley. With temperatures reaching a low of -36 degrees Fahrenheit! This is the first time schools in the Steamboat Springs real estate area have been closed because of the weather since 1989!
Because the temperatures were so blisteringly low, yet it hadn’t reached -40 degrees. This is the current requirement for school to be cancelled because diesel will freeze (school busses.) Because the temperatures were so bitter, school was cancelled and the superintendent is considering adjusting the temperature requirement for school to be cancelled.
